Position: Museum Collections/Records Management Intern

Summary:

The highly competitive Nantucket Historical Association’s summer internship program allows a dynamic group of students with varied interests, strengths, and goals to immerse themselves in an outstanding educational and professional environment. Interns learn and work directly with professionals in a team-based, collaborative environment. The internship is a full-time position that begins on June 2, 2017, and lasts between ten and twelve weeks.  A $2,500 stipend and housing will be offered.  For more information on the NHA and the island of Nantucket, please visit our website at www.nha.org.  The Museum Collections Intern will assist the Curatorial and Archival staff in organizing and cataloging museum collections and archival materials.  Emphasis will be placed on organizing and properly storing the organization’s institutional records including maps and drawings of NHA sites.  Other responsibilities will include assisting with cataloging of collections at the Gosnold Collections Center.  Knowledge of InMagic collections software is preferred.
