Job Purpose: This role is designed to provide hands on experience to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards of the organization, allowing an opportunity for individuals to apply what they have learned in a classroom environment while gaining new skills in a dynamic professional setting. Specific activities will vary by department. Job Responsibilities: Filene Research Institute is seeking a Library/Information Sciences part-time summer intern to help establish and execute on an internal/external knowledge management and information cataloging system, for all of Filene but primarily their research library comprising over 400 outputs produced in the last three decades. This work would include: – Conducting stakeholder interviews to determine information needs and uses – Assisting in the identification of what system or structure should be used to manage Filene’s information and research library – Establishing structure – Determining appropriate classification system – categories, tags, keywords, etc.
- Loading the Filene research library digital contents into the selected system – Appending all existing content with the classification system – Establishing protocols and processes for future loading and tagging of outputs as they are created – Collaborate with Filene colleagues on the potential use of this system for external stakeholder needs Job Requirements: – Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Library & Information Studies or related degree program/work experience, preferably entering the junior or senior year of college – Demonstrate excellent communication skills; verbal and written – Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and accuracy – Ability to work independently – Intellectually curious about research into consumer finance, banking, and credit unions CUNA Mutual Group’s insurance, retirement and investment products provide financial security and protection to credit unions and their members worldwide.
