Description:

The Collections Manager at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum seeks an intern for a part-time (2 days a week, 200 hours total) paid internship from May-August. The intern, reporting to the Collections Manager, will assist in processing the Museum’s archives into ArchivesSpace. If you are interested in archives work and naval history, this is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in a museum setting.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Creation and input of finding aids into ArchivesSpace database
  • Scanning and handling of archival documents and photographs
  • Data entry in The Museum System (TMS).
  • Performs other duties as assigned including internal research projects

Qualifications and Experience: A recent college graduate or a current advanced degree student in a library science/archive or related program. Previous experience in archives processing as well as object handing and TMS desirable.

Compensation: $2,000 stipend
