Description:

Archival internship opportunity for a graduate student working on library and information science, advanced archives, digital preservation or related degree. The internship focuses on developing and implementing a digitization and archival plan for our historical collection of marketing material.

Project tasks include:

  • Develop a digitization and archival plan for material captured in print, hard drive and disc
  • Evaluate and log inventory
  • Plan phases and recommendations for processing
  • Prepare and scan print material, reformat as needed
  • Migrate content stored on hard drives and disc to a staging server
  • Minimal metadata application
  • Present digitization and archival plan with recommendations to internal team

This project is ideal for students interested in learning about:

  • Digital collection development
  • Data structures and organization
  • Corporate archives
  • Digital production (born digital normalization and digitization from analog) for digital preservation
  • Software marketing & design

For this internship the candidate must possess excellent organization and analytical skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with digital image capture and data management.
