The John David Mooney Foundation is accepting applications for Professional Postgraduate Internships, in archival preservation, collections’ management, curatorial practices, and photo archives.

Archival management will entail the cataloging and digitization of works of art, photographs, and slides, manuscripts, and paper documents, and will include the preparation and scanning of works on paper.

Candidates should have a Masters in Library Science or equivalent. Familiarity with book production practices and graphic design is a plus. Two positions are available in this area.

Skills required include:

  • Archival and reference skills
  • Manuscript processes
  • Transcription abilities
  • Database management
  • Knowledge of electronic databases
  • Experience with Photoshop
  • Archive, record keeping, and preservation experience
  • Experience establishing or improving workflows for accessioning, processing, and providing access to digital records.
  • Work well with others and be a team player

In addition, one position as a graduate summer assistant in archival document and slide library practices is available. The candidate must be working toward a master’s degree or have completed an undergraduate degree.
