The Consumer Laws and Regulations Branch is seeking a graduate level summer intern (must currently be enrolled in school through the 2017 calendar year) to carry out a records management project with DCCA. Under the supervision of attorneys, senior staff assistance and with the guidance from the Office of the Secretary’s Records team, the intern will provide analysis and subject indexing of historical legal files within the Branch as part of with the division-wide records management project and in preparation for the division’s upcoming move. The intern will organize and maintain paper and electronic files; review legal documentation; categorize them and classify items for off-site storage.
The intern should have an interest in library science and/or the legal field with organizational abilities and strong skills in research, critical analysis and creative thinking, oral and written communication. The candidate must have effective interpersonal skills; proficient with Microsoft Office products and knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act. The intern should also be able to work independently.
