Position: Records Management Intern

Location:Pasadena California

Company/Organization  Jet Propulsion Lab

The JPL Records Management Group plays an important role in the capture, organization and preservation of JPL’s unique contributions to science and society.

Schedule/Hours: full time (40 hours per week)

Time Frame:  Summer internships begin in May and June, on the first business day of each week

Students must be available full time for at least 10-weeks in the summer

Compensation: Participants receive a weekly stipend.

Description:

Under the direction of the JPL Records Manager and Records staff, the intern will be responsible for completing the official electronic record for legacy engineering drawings. Daily tasks will involve: identifying engineering drawings by unique ID, ensuring that the drawing has not already been added to the official repository, uploading the drawing to the official repository, and removing the duplicate from the staging area. The intern will create/revise any logs as needed.

Qualifications: Candidates must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a graduate program in Library/Information Science
  • Have a GPA of 3.0+
