Location: Mount Vernon, Virginia

Company/Organization  The Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington 

The Washington Library is looking for motivated dynamic scholars interested in learning more about the field of digital public history. This paid Internship will be offered on a semester basis and interns are expected to work eight hours per week. Interns are not required to be based/reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, thus may work remotely. The Washington Library fosters new scholarly research about George Washington and the Founding Era, while safeguarding original Washington books and manuscripts. It is also the institutional archive of the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, the oldest women’s preservation society in the United States.

Since its inception in October 2012, the George Washington Digital Encyclopedia has been viewed more than seven million times and has partnered with numerous institutions around the globe to author its content.

Schedule/Hours: 8 hours/week required
