Description: The Music Library Student Assistant supports the operations of the Music Library at the borrowing desk. The student assistant organizes the Music Library’s collections, answers the phone, and provides preliminary reference assistance to patrons at the borrowing desk. The incumbent may also assist with special projects designed to improve awareness of and access to the Library’s collections.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:
Charging library materials out and checking them in
Instructing patrons in the use of resources such as searching the Library’s catalog and music-specific databases
Troubleshooting computers, printers, audio equipment, and other AV equipment
Providing patrons with the status of materials requested
Contributing to the Music Library’s social media presence by updating its blogs and Facebook page.
