Company/Organization Defense Forensic Science Center provides full service forensic support (traditional, expeditionary, and reach-back) to Army and DoD customers worldwide; provides training and research capabilities; serves as the executive agent for the DoD DNA databasing program; and provides forensic support to other federal agencies
Schedule/Hours 24-32 hours per week on site.
Time Frame. Start date varies – 8-12 week duration is required to work. Long-term positions – various start dates, available based on school location. We are able to continuously accept students into the program, we do not have a hard deadline for application would like to have archival interns present throughout the school year and with no particular start or stop date.
Compensation: The salary range is $2000-3000 for full time (40 hr/week) interns, depending on the number of completed credit hours, GPA, and whether the applicant has previous research experience. This amount will be prorated for the students that do not work full time.

Description: This program is a unique opportunity for students to conduct leading edge research in a premiere forensic facility. Position duties include creating an initial inventory list for archival documents and processing boxes of original materials, including ephemera, photographs, papers, slides, negatives, discs, etc. Items will require assignment of accession numbers, description of the images depicted, measurement of dimensions, and identification of formats. All work will lead to the digitization of the archival materials to standards, metadata creation and uploading of content into a system. Qualified interns should be collaborative, able to communicate, and well-organized.
