Position: Judy and John McCarter Family Fellowship-WFMT
Helping maintain WFMT’s music library/Digitally archiving and organizing past program
Eligibility McCarter Family fellowships will be offered to individuals from under-resourced backgrounds including students enrolled in a program of higher education, new college graduates, or young adults 18 years old or older who have been out of school 12 months or less who seek to build their skills in order to enter the media production field with demonstrated interest in classical music and the arts.
Location: Chicago, IL
Company/Organization Judy and John McCarter Family Fellowship Program will help build diversity in the next generation of media producers and will address a vital need for opportunities for young adults from under-resourced communities. The experience gained through these internship opportunities will provide a more prepared and diverse pool of trained media professionals.
Schedule/Hours Full-time
Time Frame. Depending on whether the fellow is a student or out of school, the Judy and John McCarter Family Fellowship provides either one semester or six months of full-time, hands-on training. Compensation: $15/hour.

Key WFMT Responsibilities:
• Assisting WFMT producers and hosts with research, field recording, script writing, and audio editing, including coordinating with artists, ensembles, and organizations from around Chicago and around the world.
• Digitally archiving and organizing past programs.
• Participating in planning for local programming.
• Helping maintain WFMT’s music library.
• Creating content for wfmt.com, including, but not limited to, conducting and transcribing interviews.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
